Our school library is accessible to all students and staff, with welcoming spaces led by a certified school librarian who provides relevant instruction, leadership, and resources to develop students' skills in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Library Support

Our library values access, inquiry, literacy, collaboration, privacy, and equity. We support staff and students by connecting them with high-quality resources and instruction to enhance their learning.

We provide the following services to support learning: 

  • Instruction - Students learn how to responsibly use and evaluate resources, information, and technology tools. 
  • Access to resources - Students check out library books or access digital resources that meet their academic needs or help them explore their interests. 
  • Reader’s Advisory - Get suggestions for which book to read next, or which resources to use for a project.

Library Mission Statement

The mission of the Brier Creek Elementary Library Media Center is to empower students through information literacy instruction and provide opportunities and space for collaboration. We focus on creating a community of readers and empowering individuals with free access to information. We believe in the freedom to create, explore, read, and learn.
